2014
A Bleak difficult listen, and it's awesome!
"The critics have always been our enemy because of the self-appointed, self-anoited, houlier-than-thou approach they take. Even though they rarely have credentials, never went to school, never studied journalism and have no ethics, they have the point of view that their opinion is more important than ours. They are a bane to society, a completely worthless form of life as we know it on this planet." -Gene Simmons

Weedpecker - Weedpecker
2013
On one hand I really dig the vibe and groove on this, but if I was in a bad mood I would just call it generic Stoner Rock. Mello heavy groovin' I like it.
The Old Wind _ Feast on Your Gone
2013
I really like this style of music heavy heavy doomy screaming and yelling. It's also 2014 and at this point I can't tell these guys apart from a ton of other bands I've heard over the years.

Argus - Beyond the Martyrs
Traditional Metal updated and powerful and crunchy. You'll hear some Maiden in there. Killer guitar playing.
Earth Witch - Earthbound
Doin' the more primitive Black Sabbath thing with Red Fang type vocals. Head bobbin' Shiz! Reminds me of Green & Wood.
Stoned Cobra - High and Mighty
Epic stoner rock. Too easy going, it makes me loose interest. These guys are good and not totally sincere.
The Entrance Band - Face The Sun
Psychedelic pop rocks. 60's inspired. Nice production. Lots of guitar effects. Song seems a little long winded, but the good parts are really good.
Hollow Phobos - Get High and Kill Yourself
4 songs. I don't know where one ends and the next starts. Reminds me of someone breathing and sometimes screaming. Horror movie soundtrack to 2001. Unsettling.
Spiral - A Parasite's Guide to ReWriting History
A 30 minute song that builds and buildsto a climax, and a 27 minute song that seems like more of a journey. The only time I could really listen to this is when I'm going to bed, or maybe a long car drive. Soundtrack music.
Tabula Rasa - Tabula Rasa
Jazzy pop light progressive with vocals that remind me of a teenage Eddie Brickel. These guys should fit in well down at the hippy jam band fest.
Black Sabbath - Dehumanizer
Not a memorable song on here, but it rocks when I listen to it. Plus its got Dio so you can't complain.
The Crystal Caravan - With Them You Walk Alone
70's inspired rock. Indie stoner rock. Good Songs, These guys are closer to the Black Angels than Black Sabbath.
Deaf Heaven - Sunbather
Slick production black metal that rips and screams for a while then is quiet for a while then rips, ect over and over. I've heard these guys refered to as the Coldplay of Black Metal. Melodramatic Black Metal.
Astral Cult - Astral Cult
Killer up tempo Doom. Female singer that can wear on me after a while, She does lots of wailing and holding notes and stuff. Rippin' guitar solos.
3rd Ear Experience - BOI
Psychedelic pop space rock freak out. Spacey rockin'. Similar to Monster Magnet, but not so drugged out, also an Early Pink Floyd thing going on here. Lots of spacey trippiness. Almost a Post Rock thing but not so boring. Some cool rhythms.
Witchgrave - Witchgrave
Retro NWOBHM with gruff vocals. Killer old school Satanic Metal. Venom/Judas Priest
Mount Carmel - Get Pure
The Black Keys and the Black Crowes meet up at the Free/Bad Company concert.
Skull Fist - Chasing the Dream
80's pop Metal that goes really fast a lot. Dokken/Motley Crue type with whiney high vocals, like the guy from White Lion. I was in high school when this style of music was popular ...my friends would make fun of me if they knew I listened to this.
Civil War - The Killer Angels
Sounds like 80's Dio solo stuff at it's best, otherwise I guess it's Power Metal.
