Indian - Slights and Abuse / The Sycophant

2007 / 2008
Big crushing heaviness that is a steamroller of a beatdown. For fans of Black Cobra, High On Fire...also long, long slow parts.

-This is two vinyl releases collected on one CD.

Ramesses - Misanthropic Alchemy

2007
Ramesses I gave the first record a listen today and that thing is a fucking bulldozer of fucking heavy crushing steamrollerness. I like it 'cuz it's pretty much all out and super heavy, but this thing dosn't crawl it moves along at a battering clip. It's It's all out let it lose in the performance as well as the production. I like this kind of thing, but if your looking for good songs and production Take The Curse is one of my favorite records of 2010. Still in rotation in the car.

Wildildlife - Six

A Cacophony of indie psychedelia. A room clearer for sure. Not for beginners.

Birdeater - Utah (EP)

Big and heavy. Yelling vocals. Sludgey hardcore chug-a-lug. Feedback too. Occasional quiet parts.

Wastelander - Wastelander (Demo)

2007
Black Metal with a bit of thrash thrown in. Vocals teeter between regular guy Black Flag/Thrash type and screechy metal voice. The vocals are what takes this a bit above average. Samples too.

Baroness / Unpersons Split - A Grey Sigh In A Flower Husk

2007
A split CD.
Baroness: Sounds like the hardcore kids discovered Iron Maiden.
Unpersons: Sounds like the hardcore kids like Drive Like Jehu.
I like both these bands. It's just that this particular release doesn't bowl me over. I did see Unpersons live a few year ago and thought they were great.
